Miss Annie Wheeler’s Heirloom Plant Sale

Boxwoods, irises and lilies – oh my! Pond Spring, The General Joe Wheeler Home will host its first plant sale on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 9am – 2pm. Visit Miss Annie’s Heirloom Plant Sale and you can bring home a piece of her historic garden.
Special to the sale are boxwoods propagated from the English Dwarf variety the General’s daughter, Miss Annie, planted on site nearly 100 years ago.  Other plants available for sale will include English ivy, vinca, daffodils, irises, daylilies, spider lilies and more – all harvested from the historic gardens.  Proceeds from the plant sale will fund future restoration efforts on the fifty-acre site.
Pond Spring is located in Lawrence County in Hillsboro, three miles east of Courtland, on Alabama Highway 20 (US Alt. 72). For more information contact Kara Long at wheelerinfo@hiwaay.net, 256-637-8513.
