11th annual juried regional artist Exhibit at the Carnegie

The Carnegie Visual Arts Center presents the exhibit Embracing Art - A Coming Together of

Area Amateur and Professional Artists on exhibit August 13 - September 21, 2013.

Embracing Art is an annual juried exhibit featuring works by North Alabama connected artists. This is the eleventh annual presentation of this exhibit. Embracing Art was the inaugural exhibit for the Carnegie Visual Arts Center in April of 2003. The exhibit includes works in multiple media including pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, oil, acrylic, clay, and mixed media. The Art Selection Committee chose artists to be included in the exhibit from their submitted applications including photographs of up to three piece of their art. From the 70 piece exhibit the Exhibit Judge will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners and a number of Honorable Mention awards, and Executive Director Kim Mitchell will select the Director’s Choice award.
